Jungkook of BTS has set a record as the first and only Asian artist to surpass 2.1 billion streams on Spotify.

With his solo single “Seven,” Jungkook achieved over 2.1 billion cumulative streams on the world’s largest music streaming platform. Released on July 14, 2023, the song reached this milestone in 518 days, marking the fourth-fastest track in Spotify’s history to hit 2.1 billion streams worldwide.

This achievement makes him the first Asian solo artist to have multiple songs simultaneously ranked on Spotify’s annual global year-end chart.

“Seven” had already dominated Spotify charts. It became the first song by an Asian artist to top the Spotify Daily Top Songs Global Chart for a total of 71 days. It also held the No.1 spot on the Weekly Top Songs Global Chart for nine consecutive weeks, the longest run by a male artist in 2023. Furthermore, the song became the first by a K-pop solo artist to remain on the Daily Top Songs Global Chart for over 500 days.
